Why was GTA 6 delayed?
In both announcements Rockstar said it needed more time to finish the game to the level of quality players expect. That is common for games of this size: Rockstar's previous release, Red Dead Redemption 2, was also delayed twice before launching in October 2018.
Could it be delayed again?
Nobody outside Rockstar can say for sure. What we can say is that, as of October 2026, pre-orders are open, a long gameplay showcase is out and the November 19 date has been repeated in official material. Those are usually signs that a launch is locked in. If anything changes, our countdown will be updated the same day.
